Apparently reacting to speculations in some quarters that he had been paid an undisclosed amount of money to campaign against the candidacy of Jonathan of the PDP, Bakare said will punish whoever is accusing him of taking bribe.
Speaking to his congregants on Sunday, the cleric said he has not said anything that has not been said before.
He therefore challenged those accusing him to come forward with proof.
Bakare was Buhari’s running mate in 2011 under the platform of the defunct Congress for Progress Change, CPC. They lost the presidential election to Goodluck Jonathan.
It would be recalled that Channels Television, a Lagos-based independent 24-hour news station, on Sunday suddenly terminated a broadcast by Bakare, over claims the tone of the message was critical of the Nigerian government.
He had earlier called on the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to postpone the 2015 general elections by six months.
