Ambode sure knows how to feel the pulse of the masses as the APC gubernatorial candidate declared during a recent interview on radio at the University of Lagos that he won’t hike the school fees of the Lagos State University if voted into power.
“‘I want to assure all the students of LASU, we would not increase school fees,” Ambode said during the interview.
The current governor of the state, Babatunde Fashola had reduced the fees being paid by students of the institution from N198,750 to N25,000.
He also used the occasion to lament the deplorable condition of higher education in the country as a whole, and blamed the situation for the poor quality of graduates, adding: ‘’I am happy we have taken over the centre now.”
“We have a major programme for higher education in our manifesto; we will pursue that together with the national government when we win the election on Saturday. On LASU fees, he reiterated: ‘’If there is anything we must do, we would sit down together and see what can be done, and even review the fees they are paying now.”
I am sure this is one news all LASU students want to pay attention to as they would want to hold Ambode by his word should he go ahead to win Saturday’s election and become the next governor of Lagos state.
